Overview
The Digital Communications IP role primarily focuses on providing support to the GSK.com corporate web estate (with 1.2 million visitors a month). Additionally, providing support and assistance to other social channels, coverings areas such as authoring, content creation and editing, data analysis to drive continuous improvement.
Skills
Below are some of the existing skills I developed: Multitasking - successfully managed day-to-day responsibilities in a busy corporate digital team as a web editor for GSK.com which included supporting the publication of 100+ time sensitive Press Releases. Time management - Delivered publication of four sets of GSK's quarterly financial results in a high-pressure environment. Managing and networking - Led on projects to overhaul Careers content on GSK.com with recruitment stakeholders and third-party agencies; and the annual publication process to disclose HCP payment information for European markets.
Responsibilities
Certainly. This is highlighted in my involvement in GSK's quarterly financial results where in a high-pressured environment, I was the web editor publishing GSK’s market sensitive financial information to the public. This proves the high level of responsibility I was given.
Support & Guidance
A great amount. I completed monthly GSK assigned training, which both kept me informed and tested my knowledge.
Culture
Welcoming and uplifting on every occasion, which allowed me to ask many questions and truly develop. There was not one GSK employee who wasn't happy to assist or guide me where need be, hence why I my self-development exceeded as the months progressed.
Your Impressions
I could not see myself enjoying my placement elsewhere after having completed it at GSK. My line manager in particular was is a vital person who taught me a lot of commercial knowledge and helped me excel my soft and hard skills. The learnings from my placement year will be the foundation of my career, regardless of where I will be in the future.
Yes
If you passionately want to work towards improving the quality of human life by helping people do more, feel better, then GSK is the right fit for you.
