Overview
The role was essentially performing any tasks necessary to aid colleagues in the team. In practice this included things like data manipulation in Excel, creating presentations in PowerPoint and using other software in the industry, but the specifics depend very much on what project you work on.
Skills
Your Excel skills will improve tenfold without a doubt! In addition communication skills are essential when working in a team like this - especially when you are a beginner, so being able to convey your thoughts and any issues professionally is a key skill that gets developed. Lastly, there is a requirement to deliver a presentation at the end of the internship and speaking in that kind of setting is often a new experience for many.
Responsibilities
Because we were placed on actual client projects, there was a definite sense of responsibility and importance to our work.
Support & Guidance
I was paired up with a buddy and of course a manager who both were both incredibly supportive people and were there for anything I needed.
Culture
The team is a really friendly group of people, who seem genuinely interested in talking to you. As it was online, I cannot assess the office culture, but the people I encountered were absolutely great!
Your Impressions
Personally I thoroughly enjoyed it! There's not much more I need to say!
Yes
Don't be afraid of anything! The people are really great and do want you to get something out of the experience. Ask lots of questions and show genuine interest in the work and you will have a far more engaging time!
