Overview
Helping disadvantaged young people with school work and behaviour in school
Skills
Learner true patience, building relations with young people and getting them to listen to you. Organisation skills, leadership qualities as well
Responsibilities
A huge amount of responsibility as we had to look after young people, some with very serious issues in their daily lives
Support & Guidance
A lot of guidance from IOs and staff within the school. Could have had more training on strategies to work with students.
Culture
Very cult like but it was always positive and supportive
Your Impressions
I absolutely loved the work I did, it inspired me to go into a career within teaching
Yes
Go in with a open mind to everything, and give the kids you work with a chance, they take a while to see that you really care and want the best for them
