Overview
Initially we had two weeks of training in financial markets as well as a two day Hackathon in teams with other interns. Then I was on desk for two weeks in a team within QTS where I developed my coding skills and then worked alongside colleagues in that team.
Skills
I developed both my financial markets knowledge, and my coding skills. As well as soft skills whilst doing my internship.
Responsibilities
I was able to work on the actual codebase for the application and given my own tasks to do, I constantly had support along the way but it was great to be given some actual responsibility.
Support & Guidance
I was in constant contact with my manager and had multiple colleagues that I could reach out to, including a manager that remained in contact with all the QTS interns throughout the internship. HR were also really helpful for any less technical questions.
Culture
It was such a great company to work for. The culture is lovely with an emphasis on team work and personal development.
Your Impressions
I loved the placement, it was the most incredible experience and I was really sad to leave. I have learnt so much to take forward into my future career.
Yes
Be yourself, it's the best way to find out if the company is a good fit for you, and make sure you ask lots of questions.
