Overview
My role mainly involves preparing presentation materials, performing financial modelling, and doing up Comparables analyses. Aside from these tasks, there is often other adhoc miscellaneous admin tasks that I help with as well (chasing signatures, filling up documents, doing meeting minutes)
Skills
I learnt extensively about the debt capital markets and how to do valuation for Term Loans, High yield bonds issuances. More importantly, I managed to pick up and understand the acronyms and lots of different jargon commonly used in Levfin.
Responsibilities
Yes absolutely, I helped out in a billion dollar financing deal among 6 other multimillion dollar deals or potential deals
Support & Guidance
I was supported before the desk placement with a 3 week training program. During my time in Levfin, numerous analysts were more than happy to guide me throughout and answer many questions I have. Some of them even called in to check on me and explain concepts whenever I am confused.
Culture
Excellent culture, could easily talk to anyone on the team. The MDs were really friendly and supportive. One of them even called to congratulate me upon getting accepted into the program and offered to video call me to guide me on how best to prepare for my Summer internship. Also had team drinks many times especially during the last week of my internship.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the program very much.
Yes
Definitely try your shot at applying, don't be afraid that you do not have Finance knowledge because RBC really values every applicant regardless of how much IBD experience you have had.
