Business Insight
It was informative to learn about the different business areas that the firm had and how these worked together. Furthermore, it was helpful when it came for me to make a decision as to where I wanted to apply for a summer internship role.
Culture
Main thing that stood out to me about the company culture was how willing other bankers were to help you out and make sure you understood what was going on - no matter how senior they were or how basic what they were explaining was. The general atmosphere seemed collaborative but also welcoming and it seemed like everyone got on well which made RBC seem like a great place to work.
Your Impressions
Enjoyed it a lot as it was a great opportunity to meet people - both other candidates, HR and RBC employees. It was clear that there was a lot of work put into the programme and I think it was a very balanced and informative insight into the work that RBC does. It also touched on very important and senstive topics such as DE&I and the firm's approach to it.
Yes
Try and talk to as many people as you can before applying - it really helps you understand the values that the firm stands for, the nature of the business model and the corporate culture. RBC is full of nice people who are easy to work with and you want to make sure that this comes across in your interview.
