Overview
My role involved assisting current employees with tasks on a day-to-day basis and getting to learn more about the firm as well as the business. Some of the tasks allocated to me were: conducting research into companies/industries, financial modelling and creating pitchbooks. I also took part in a CSR challenge where I raised money with other interns for a good cause. In my spare time I networked and spoke to people across NatWest.
Skills
Yes, I learnt valuable new skills - especially financial modelling. I also developed existing skills such as: teamwork, communication, and working at pace.
Responsibilities
I was given a great deal of responsibility during the internship. The teams I rotated across were very keen to allocate tasks to me and guide me through them if I had any questions. I was very fortunate to be able to help out on ongoing deals.
Support & Guidance
The support and guidance was incredible. I was paired with a graduate buddy and was able to ask lots of questions. I also had daily calls with my line manager where I was able get support and guidance.
Culture
The company culture was very friendly and inclusive. I felt the company really strives hard to make interns part of NatWest.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the internship because I learnt so much and there was such a variety of things to do. All the employees were very friendly and willing to help.
Yes
Make sure you research the firm thoroughly and understand how NatWest is working towards its wider goals.
