Overview
I worked 9-5 every weekday for 6 weeks, the internship was online however I was in the office 1-2 times a week which gave me a feel for an office environment. I worked on a variety of marketing projects the main one being planning, organising and running a sustainability webinar featuring a panel of industry experts.
Skills
I learnt a variety of new skills that I would not usually learn at university. For example I learnt how to use IT programs such as ASANA and zoom webinar. I learnt a lot about email marketing, from how to write the emails to creating the mail list and sending them out. I also developed my confidence when it comes to working with people in a large organisation.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility, I was left in charge of the sustainability webinar when my manager was on leave which was scary but the whole team were always on hand to lend a hand.
Support & Guidance
The whole marketing team were supportive from day 1. I always had someone reaching out to see how I was which made the first week a lot less scary. I never lacked support or guidance.
Culture
The company culture was positive throughout the 6 weeks. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed the daily tea breaks which allowed everyone to get to take a break and have a catch up. I was never made to feel like an intern I was taken is as one of the team and treated like that from the beginning.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed everything about my internship although it was stressful at times it was a great learning experience and I would tell others about the positive experience I had.
