Overview
I was assigned to a client and joined the team assigned to them and worked on various tasks throughout my three weeks. The tasks included analysing movements on balance sheets, zoom calls with the client in order to verify accounts, along with other various tasks. Each day I had several interactions with team members who clearly outlined tasks for me to complete along with providing a wider insight into the company.
Skills
I developed and learnt a large number of skills, personal and professional. The skill I found that developed the most has been my communication. Throughout my three weeks I spoke to clients, partners and everyone in-between. I found that building a good rapport with people really important to being able to develop my skills. I also completed various online courses, which gave me a much wider knowledge required for working in the corporate world.
Responsibilities
Throughout my internship I was given progressively more responsibility. At the beginning I was tasked with arranging team meetings. After successfully completing these sorts of tasks successfully, I moved onto analysing clients financials. I then had to present my findings to my line manager. In my last week, I was asked to arrange a zoom call with a client and then allowed to participate in the call.
Support & Guidance
I was given a huge amount of guidance and support throughout my internship. I had morning check-ins everyday. Each day I had a new point of contact in order to build a wider network. My line manager scheduled weekly zoom calls with himself where we spoke through my goals and many other various points. In the build to my internship I was given a buddy who guided me through my internship.
Culture
The companies culture was incredibly friendly but professional. Everyone worked extremely hard but they were always willing to give up their time in order to talk me through various tasks. I felt like I was really welcomed to my team, each member sent me individual messages, introducing themselves and that they were willing to help if I need anything.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. I felt very privileged to be given the opportunity. I felt incredibly welcomed and valued. I have luckily been offered a graduate job and am very excited to rejoin the team.
