The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed working in the HR department at PSA Peugeot Citroen, and it has been a great experience working in two entirely different environments.
I continuously felt although my other colleagues could rely on me to carry out tasks, and instantly made me feel like a part of the team.
I have felt supported for the entirety of both of my placements, and always felt I could ask my manager and fellow colleagues for help or assistance when needed.
For a majority of time I was very busy, but I always asked if there was anything I could help with if I was quieter.
I was surprised how much resonsibility I was given in both of my placements, and it has really helped me get the most out of the placement.
I hope that what I have learnt over the past year will help me put the theory I have learnt into practice when returning to university. It has also given me a good understanding of HR and what to expect in a future career in HR.
The Company
Generally the atmosphere was great in the office. It was nice being able to have a laugh with your fellow colleagues, as well as acting professionally with them.
I was very impressed with the organisation of my placement. I was aware of when all training was taking place, and the initial induction week really helped us all settle in quickly.
We had 4.5 days worth of training which helped us develop our transferable skills to use in our placement but also to use when we returned to university. I was also pleased with how my team training me on my actual job role, and were always available for me to ask questions.

I would like to come back to work for PSA Peugeot Citroen if the option was available; however, they are yet to see if this is a possibility.
The Culture
I lived with 3 other placement students, which is definitely something I would reccommend for others. We also had nights out/meals with the other placement students.
I found the living costs in Coventry were much lower than at university; however, it does depend where abouts in the city you live.
It was ok, not great. There were places to go out, but you could go further afield (such as Birmingham) for a good night out.
The opportunities were there if you wanted to get involved outside of work.
