Overview
I found Architects which were looking for new jobs or open to the market, would give market advice, meet with them and discuss action plans to get them a job. I would then generate new buisness with clients, find people who fit their needs and negotiate fees accordingly. I was also responsible for my online presence and meeting targets and building my own networks.
Skills
social skills, running meetings, presenting, negotiation of fees, sales skills, writing skills, CV wiritng skills, analytical skills, confidence
Responsibilities
I was completely respnsible for my own desk and candidates, I was treated as the same as the other consultants and held to the same standard, building my own network and buisness and running it with my own brand. I got to plan out my day as i wished and was free to do site visits and train other employees as an employee. There was a very high level of responsibility.
Support & Guidance
I recieved an online traininng course when i initially joined Hays and recieved 2 more sets of traning 2 months apart, and had a manager on call if i had any questions however i was largely left to trial and error beyond my online training.
Culture
The company culture was very much so work hard, play hard. There was a fun atmosphere where people all went out ot lunch together and had drinks every friday. There were also a lot of incentives when you hit targets, you got free meals, drinks and activities together which was a lot of fun in a relatively youn environment
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my time at hays, it was very high responsibility and target driven but was a placement where i could truly reap the rewards of working hard. I had a comission based structure thsat meant i could be valued as an employee, and got to build my own environment.
Yes
I would reccomend that you show your personality throughout the recruitment process, Hays are looking for people with a social aspect and fun personality so let it shine through. From there i would let them know to not be afraid to ask for help and enjoy the respinsibility as the year will absolutley fly by and your will grow in skill set and as a person no end.
