Overview
I was working specifically on the ECMC network website (ecmcnetwork.org.uk) updating and adding content, initiatives and improving the usability/accessibility of the website through Google analytics, hot jar and other metrics, while creating a long term website maintenance plan/ UX Plan for user testing.
Skills
UX design, digital space, science context/early phase clinical trials and ECMC context, adding website content and hand over materials
Responsibilities
Internally on the side to run an intern fundraising event, within my role having the main role in the website project, learning new skills while doing the tasks and presenting at different opportunities, creating a user testing chance to improve the websites functionality/navigation and accessibility- aiming to improve and raise the profile of the network and showcase capabilities/initiatives
Support & Guidance
I have had and still do, a lot of support options and expertise, in terms of technical support, UX design team at CRUK and from the ECMC team overall, HR and early careers team for general development/career progression- as the content for the website is complex it is hard to fully be able to describe that in a clear and concise way, however with time and discussing my questions with my team I am being more aware and confident in my tasks.
Culture
Very friendly, warm, positive and supportive.
Your Impressions
To a great extent- the time flew! I would gladly like a longer more permanent positive in the future with CRUK
