The Role
Good place to work, lots of friendly people and activities to get involved in. Thoroughly recommended.
Generally I feel my team appreciated my help and work.
My manager was always willing to share his expertise and his time. He Offered detailed feedback on my work and would always make constructive suggestions on how to do it better in the future.
The good thing about my job was the workload was very varied. I had lots of opportunities to mix with other departments so, when my workload was a little low I could always help other teams.
My manager was generally willing to include me as much as I could in projects. Obviously interns do not run The Walt Disney Company. However, most managers will give you the time and little insights into how the business is run.
There are key lessons I will take from my placement namely; attention to detail, organisation and carrying a positive attitude. Applicability of these skills to university is yet to be seen, However these lessons will be used in the future.
The Company
The people at Disney make the experience. You'll make friends very quickly and they are always willing to lend a hand or offer advice.
I was the first intern in my role, so not perfect start to me. However other teams seem to have more structured procedures in place.
You'll have quite a few opportunities to attend seminars or conferences to improve certain skills. Disney is an organisation who invests in its employees :D.
Flexi Time
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare/Dental
I am not to sure. My department has a very specific structure that I think I would experience in order to get a role I want in the future.
The Culture
Big Intern group at Disney who are always doing something from; Sports, going out, charity events or general activities. Lots to do. :D
Lived at home so saved, but still enjoyed the social side.
London, so lots of choice. Transport links e.g. the underground, make it easy to try new places as well.
Charity Events, Sports teams e.g. football, netball., Going out. Lots of interns so lots of opportunities to find an activity which suits you.
