Overview
Each day there is a presentation from one of the departments with the opportunity for lots of Q&A. There is also a daily session hosted by HR on topics ranging from diversity and inclusion and confidence building to a fun virtual philanthropy event.
Skills
I learned the basics of using Bloomberg terminal, gained confidence in asking questions, sharpened my group presentation skills, and practiced virtual networking.
Business Insight
There are lots of pathways and opportunities available within Bloomberg it seems and the presenters did a good job explaining what these were and how we may get involved with them.
Culture
Bloomberg seems to be very inclusive and has a strong culture of collaboration.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it, keeping your camera on for 8 hours of the day can be a bit taxing but does keep you accountable. The sheer number of questions others in the insight asked was a bit overwhelming at times, and it felt as if people were asking for the sake of being seen to ask instead of genuinely wanting to know the answer, but I think this is typical of any insight
Yes
Be honest with your skills and knowledge, be sure to keep track of the application as there are lots of parts to it and tests need to be completed quite quickly. Give your best effort in the interview as they will give you good feedback on the interview, even if it is not successful it is likely that you will learn from it and they will tell you where you went wrong
