Overview
The programme is comprised of a combination of talks from the firm and interactive activities. We heard from the graduate recruitment team, senior partners, associates and business development representatives about their practice areas and the firm's broader agenda. The interactive workshop consisted of group exercises where we collaborated to represent our client.
Skills
I developed my teamwork, communication, and research skills in the interactive workshop. I learned the skill of advocacy, which I haven't had the chance to do as a non-law student.
Business Insight
I learned a great deal about the business. From their main clients to their innovation team to their D&II/ESG programmes. I left the scheme with a fundamental understanding of the business's strategy. The firm explained the opportunities available with great clarity.
Culture
The culture seems inclusive and welcoming. Their pro-bono practice is impressive. Their commitment to D&I is bold and ambitious. The firm doesn't seem to proliferate a hierarchical culture.
Your Impressions
Very much. I learned a lot, developed my skills and made great friends/connections. What the firm did well was incorporate lots of breaks into the program. Aside from the great food, this gave us a chance to meet new people and learn from them.
Yes
Be yourself throughout the application process. Make sure your CV is professional and proofread by a friend/family.
