Overview
Days are from 9am to 5pm. This was completely via Zoom. A personalized timetable was sent for each student with various links to an online session. Day 1: introduction to banking, interactive activities via portal, panel from DB employees Day 2: reflections on the previous day, film activity, panel sessions Day 3: Employability skills, mock interview, divisional pitches, divisional networking
Skills
Developed networking and communication skills. Improved my "personal branding".
Business Insight
It was very useful and helped me decided what I wanted to do with my future. It showed the hierarchy of the business and the different branches of the company. There are several kinds of roles so there's something for everyone.
Culture
This was online so it was hard to gauge what it would be like at the actual company but all the staff were very pleasant so I have no doubt the actual work place would be the same.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed it. I learned a lot of new things and was able to interact with other students who had the same aspirations as I did.
Yes
Do your research. Read about the bank e.g. their values, their goals etc. and read financial press articles to give you a deeper insight of the banking industry.
