The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at Xerox.
From the very start, i felt valued and accepted by my colleagues.
As part of my placement, i had to complete a monthly log book and my manager helped me throughout my experience with these.
At times in the month, it was perfect, i was kept busy but i didnt have too much to do but then at other times, i didn't have much to do or else I had too much to do
I felt that I was given quite a lot of responsibility on placement, I knew that i was a valuable employee because there were some things i could do that none of my colleagues could do.
I did develop many skills over my time at Xerox but I felt that at times, they did not relate in any way to my degree programme.
The Company
Whilst we always maintain a high level of work rate, there was always time for a bit of banter in the office
Very well organised. from the day i had the assessment centre to the day i left, it was well ran
It was ok. I had some online courses in excel and access but i did not find them very beneficial
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I would like to get a job with this company. I dont think there is a better place in terms of the balance between nice people and work ethic.
The Culture
Quite good yes, there were around 50 students during my time and there was always something going on.
I was lucky that I was living with family so I did not experience the cost of living too much. It wasn't too expensive to socialise
the nightlife was ok but i can't say that i experienced the night life too regularly in this area
Yes, we often played 5 aside with fellow colleagues/students.
