The Role
It was great, I was well welcomed and felt part of the team
Along with my It role I had 20% of administration duties to carry out for the team. SO most things like raising purchase orders, deliveries, meetings, booking room meetings, stationery orders were down and left to me. Therefore I was the main person handling all admin duties. So they valued the fact there was someone on the team who could do all those things.
From daily sprints(morning and afternoon meetings) to bi-weekly performance evaluations I had the chance to speak up, ask for more work, discuss any issues and discuss my goals and objectives which was very important. All very helpful and effective. Ive learnt a lot.
at the beginning it was slow, My team had to adjust to having an intern and teaching /showing me the ropes. So I didnt start working on projects until my 3/4 month. I was doing admin work and workshadowing for the first 3/4 months
Enough to keep me occupied. Enough to mnake sure I was going out of my department to find help from other employees in the company with skills that I need to finish a project. Its very important to liaese
Very Very much, I couldnt be more pleased. I had the opportunity to see life examples of the theory behind my degree and at the same time it was explained to me more simply rather than listening to a lecturer
The Company
Everyone is friendly, but at times it was quiet, but maybe becuase we are IT geeks. in some other departments its a lot louder.
It wasnt organised from the very start but after a month there was a plan. thanks to my Manager stepping in to lead me instead of my director who was too busy.
The compnay ALWAYS endeavours to look after their cast members (Disney language for employees). If its Web traininig or employee forums, they always like to offer ways of expanding your knowledge
