The Role
I have loved my year on placement at Xerox. Very casual, fun working environment whilst being given real responsibility.
I work in a great team- everyone gets on no matter what position they are in the team.
My manager is quite relaxed with regards to appraisals etc. but they do let me know how I am getting on, on a regular basis.
It can vary depending on the time of the month, some times I really am very busy. However, I do get quieter times in the month where I can catch up.
I was given a lot of responsibility during this year. I am glad I was as it made me feel like a valued member of the team.
This year has enhanced my computer skills, also the experience of accounting in the "real world" is something which I could not have learnt in the classroom.
The Company
My team were very fun, always talking about Football or the latest weekends.
Very well, I was provided with information regarding accommodation for when I started. My line manager contacted me concerning my first day. Also, I had a two week handover period with my student which really helped.
There were a number of online resources/ courses which I could go online and complete.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
The team which I was a part of is growing in the next couple of years so I believe there is a good chance of future employment.
The Culture
Yes, there is approx. 40 students based on the same site. All live near each other and go out together.
The local area was cheap, however we tend to go into London which can be a very expensive night out.
Not very good, the area is not very nice.
I am sure there are if you searched for some, I personally did not experience any to comment.
