Overview
We were given a very informative introduction to the company and its work culture. The individual workshops were very helpful and truly covered a breadth of the type of programming skills required of a software developer. From pair programming, object oriented programming to even using GitHub as a development tool, I learnt new concepts which were extremely valuable.
Skills
Yes, programming skills, how to answer interview style questions, both in terms of the non technical and technical. The mentors were extremely helpful in introducing us to difficult concept and simplifying them down for us so we could implement them to the problem at hand.
Business Insight
Very useful. I thought amazon only hired software developers before but now I know they hire data scientists and other product managers too, which perhaps I may look into too.
Culture
very friendly, helpful and open to suggestions
Your Impressions
Very much. Highly enjoyed it
Yes
Go in with an open mind and ready to learn attitude. Its not expected for you to have known all the coding languages used there, so demonstrating that you can pick up skills fast is more important than being able to rely on previous knowledge .
