Overview
3 day insight day, day 1 included learning about amazon culture, day in the life of an engineer, hints for doing well in interviews and an introduction to our workshop teams and a quick workshop coding challenge. Day 2 was a thorough explanation of the recruitment process and the online assessment and more coding challenged in our sub groups in the workshop. Day three we spent majority of the time working on a object orientated coding problem as a group in our workshop groups, we then learnt about the mentorship scheme and the groups/communities in amazon.
Skills
Brushed up on coding skills, learnt how to use new data structures and learnt very important algorithms that might get brought up in a technical interview. Learnt how to approach a technical interview.
Business Insight
as this was aimed at people wanting to pursue a career in software development , the insight was mainly about that but there was brief mention of other roles aavailable
Culture
Mentors were extremely helpful and guided you to the correct methods by asking questions and letting you think about things instead of giving you the answer
Your Impressions
Really enjoyed it, I've definitely come out with super useful hints and tricks for coding interview. I've become more confident in my abilities as a problem solver and more passionate about my future.
