Overview
The programme, centred on the Global Advisory division, provided an introduction to M&A, debt and restructuring and equity advisory. We spent the day listening to talks from bankers from a selection of teams, with Q&As at the end. We heard from different networks, such as the community initiative and women’s network. Throughout the week we also worked in groups to analyse and pitch a potential acquisition.
Skills
Analytical and presentational skills when undertaking the group project. Communication skills when listening and asking questions in talks. Networking skills
Business Insight
Extremely useful as I had little prior knowledge.
Culture
Very inviting - everyone we met answered our questions with great depth. Insights into the women’s network and embrace network showed how they care about their employees and invest in them.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight, however the main drawback was that it was virtual, when they most likely had the capacity to hold it in person, as other banks with similar insight weeks had done so,
Yes
Make the most of the people that you will meet - they offer great insights into the firm, as well as help you develop you own skills.
