Overview
Panel discussions, presentations from senior bankers, collaborative work on a team project (M&A, Energy Sector focus), 2-to-1 talk with an Analyst and talks with affinity groups and empowerment organisations.
Skills
Definitely. Learned a great deal about Global Advisory and Rothschild & Co's long standing history (through the archive tour). Developed teamwork, time management and communication skills through the group project. Worked on my analytical skills through listening to presentations and the IAmRemarkable session taught me the skill of self promoting.
Business Insight
Everything was so well planned and organised such that there were multiple opportunities and formats to ask questions and understand the company. It was really warming to hear that there was strong support for entrepreneurship and such a strong collegiate culture at Rothschild. Everyone was extremely helpful. It would have been great if it was in person however this was out of anyone's control so really not a negative at all!
Culture
Incredibly collegiate, understanding and inclusive. The push for diversity and the fact that everyone who spoke really understood the value of it was extremely empowering. Through talking to my buddy, I found out that many weekends are protected so the family-run culture of the firm does come through in these ways. The Archive Tour was extremely interesting as it gave me a deeper appreciation of the historical significance of the firm and the office.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the programme a great deal! I only wish that it has been in person as I feel that stronger connections could have been made but again this was not within anyone's control so cannot really criticise this.
Yes
The interview process is rigorous but I would say to be authentic and to have respect for the values of the firm. Have an interest in finance and keep abrest of the news.
