Overview
The spring insight programme was a 4-day programme on Zoom where we learned about banking, the technology used in banking and various skills workshops. There were also many fun activities and oppurtunities to connect and network with other students taking the programme.
Skills
I learned a lot about how the entire banking system works, specifically what Deutsche Bank focuses on dealing with. I also learned a lot about presentation skills. Also learned a lot about the various technologies they employ in their infrastructure.
Business Insight
Very informative, gave me a strong idea as to what life is like in investment banking, and being a software developer working for an investment bank, and the various roles available for such a job.
Culture
Very friendly and always willing to help and answer questions, no matter how stupid the questions.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight and I would recommend it to anyone looking to gain more knowledge as to what life might be like in the FinTech industry. The programme was almost perfect. The one tiny issue with the program is that it is a bit too intense; nine hours of zoom in one day is not good for the human body XD.
Yes
I'd say the following are very essential if you want to be selected: - Practice psychometric tests - Write a top notch cover letter that shows genuine interest in the FinTech industry - Be genuine in interviews, don't try and come up with the "perfect" answer they're looking for, but rather an answer that is geniune and not memorised. - In interviews, if you don't know something, then clearly say so, you don't want to annoy the interviewer by wasting their time (this links back to being honest and geniune).
