The Role
A struggle to begin with, but once I had settled in it was great.
I worked with a relatively small group of people, so I got to know them well.
Regular catch-up meetings with my supervisor and support whenever I asked/need it.
For the first few months, I was not particularly busy, but as I settled in and found my feet, my workload increased.
I was supervised a reasonable amount to begin with, but as the months went by and I gained experience, the amount of responsibility and trust I had increased.
Without a doubt, the skills I have learnt will be of use in my future career.
The Company
The office I worked in was relatively small, so everyone knew one another well.
Very well organised, with a clear outline right from the start. I ran into a few difficulties, but that is inevitable with work of this kind.
A lot of time and effort was spent in training me with various processes and equipment, as well as help from people on a more casual basis whenever I needed support.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
My year with Unilever will no doubt help should I choose to apply to them in the future, though it is not a guarantee.
The Culture
The students all got on really well.
Not too expensive, about average.
Liverpool has a great range of night clubs and music venues to choose from.
Christmas party and lots of sports/social clubs.
