Corporate Communications Intern Review

Helping to write, edit and upload our weekly digital newsletter that is sent to employees in over 36 territories. Running our 'NBCUniversal International' social media channels (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) which includes writing the copy and gathering/creating assets. Updating the company's intranet site to keep employees up-to-date. Assisting with planning and executing any corporate events.

During my time here, I have been exposed to the industry practices which has allowed me to gain skills in digital communications, events and social media managing. Aside from professional development, I have also developed lots of personal skills such as time management, networking, and problem solving.

There was always an opportunity to take on more responsibility throughout my internship which I found very valuable. I was always very supported and well-prepared by my team to take on tasks or have ownership over certain projects.

I was constantly supported throughout my internship. My team were always very encouraging and understanding, but most of all fun which made this role so enjoyable! Also for the wider company, I was always comfortable to ask questions, there was always support when I needed it and if I was ever struggling on a task, there would always be someone keen to guide me.

Everyone is so friendly and nice! From day 1, I felt so welcomed and everyone is always keen to talk to you. There are lots of amazing employee resource groups, which I have been lucky enough to be involved in, which allow you to network with different people from all over the company. The transition from virtual to in-person has especially made the company culture more vibrant and fun, it's a great atmosphere!

I have loved every part of my internship! I have learnt SO much throughout this year and am very grateful for the opportunity to work in NBCUniversal. I had the most amazing team, and I thoroughly enjoyed the tasks or campaigns that I was able to work on.

Take it all in! My internship has flown by so quickly, so make the most out of your experience. Ask lots of questions along the way, and if you can, get involved in the great initiatives that the company runs as they will allow you to expand both your skills and network!
