Overview
Writing FX and Rates market updates for clients on a weekly basis (G7 countries) Pricing Cross-Currency Swaps and Interest Rate Swaps through internal stochastic tools Computing HSBC's Credit Charges on Excel Communicating indicative pricing with clients, pitching potential hedging ideas (PowerPoint presentations) Reviewing historical deal pipeline and forecasting industry trends
Skills
Excel modelling and PowerPoint presentation design has improved Commercial awareness has increased Better understanding of technical aspects with respect to swaps and how they are priced Continuous usage of Bloomberg terminal
Responsibilities
Was able to communicate with senior parties across HSCB (DCM and ECM alike) Was involved in pricing and pitching directly to clients Wrote a market update on my second day which ended up being sent to a prospective client to help them evaluate the current state of the long-ended Gilt market
