Pricing Analyst Review

The role contains a variety of different tasks which really makes you feel like you're getting the full industry experience. My days would contain tasks such as pricing of vehicles, monitoring of sold data, updating source data, creating and maintaining reports, presenting figures and that's only naming a few.

This placement has helped me develop my Excel skills, helping me understand formulas in depth, as well as the handling of large data sources. The introduction of the software Tableau helped me advance my analytical skills, providing an opportunity to look at data in detail and create/maintain reports for the whole team to use.

As an undergraduate, I assumed my tasks wouldn't make as big of an impact as they actually have. A main role I play in the team is the handling and maintaining of source data which is then fed out to the whole department. Without this data, the department cannot operate. I feel I have received a good amount of responsibility within this role.

I received the support of my entire team the whole time on placement, making it very clear early on that it is okay to ask questions and to get things wrong so long as I learn from the experience.

The atmosphere is the perfect mix of professional and causal. The office is a good place for any employee, old or new to an office workplace. I found myself on numerous occasions just having a chat with head of departments which really grounded me and took away the daunting feeling of speaking to higher up managers. Everyone is polite and quite lovely to be around.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at VWFS, both in my department and team. As a student with very little office experience, I feel I am taking away some incredible skills which are going to enhance both my CV and attitude towards work in the future. This placement has given me a lot of direction and has helped me understand where I want to be once I've finished university.
