    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Conduct research into information and tools to support ongoing Talent and ER Projects - includes Diversity and Inclusion, Enterprise Resourcing, Strategic Workforce planning. Creating new workforce analytics to support the talent agenda Working with the wider HR Operations Team to support the ER manager in producing all information required for the regular reporting cycle for key stakeholders. Supporting the planning, coordination and administration of our internal Senior Manager qualification processes. Support with the annual policy review cycle including researching to ensure that recent legislation changes are reflected. Tracking/mapping/researching changing trends in talent development Support the ER and HR Compliance Manager with the management of tribunal claims Act as a point of contact for talent related queries, escalating more complex queries and problems to Talent Business Partner Support with any ad-hoc activity within the Talent and ER Teams Act as a point of contact for all Diversity and Inclusion related queries, creation of working groups and leading and driving forward initiatives

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given lots of responsibility quite early on which was excellent. It helped me to feel like an integral part of the team as people valued my input and ideas. It's nice to have been able to have the lead on a few projects and deliver them (with colleagues) from start to finish.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Plenty of support from my line manager and immediate team. Colleagues are always making sure that I know that I can go to them for any help/support/guidance. There's a real feeling of everyone wanting to help each other; which is a really great thing to have and makes all the difference.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Company culture is fantastic. Very supportive and everyone really values the collaborative approach. People go above and beyond to help others and it's reciprocated throughout. It's a very pleasant, uplifting place to work.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement and I will genuinely be sad to leave. This whole experience has surpassed any expectations that I had. I've met some truly incredible and inspiring colleagues; that I hope to maintain contact with. I've learnt a vast amount and some of the projects that I've been apart of will inspire and shape my career going forward. A fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone.

  • Any opportunity that finds your way to you, take full advantage and make it your own. It might not initially interest you but you'll surprise yourself and if anything learn some of the most important lessons from it. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and suggest ideas; no matter how junior or senior you are, or how long you've worked there, everyone is encouraged to share ideas and collaborate.
