I undertook a lot of responsibility as the main LucasFilm reviewer in EMEA reviewing hundreds of Star Wars products each week without any supervision/further review. I was trusted to pitch ideas to VP and SVP positions in the company as well as conceptualise product ideas for external companies.
Support & Guidance
Regular team meetings and 121 meetings with my manager ensured i was kept up to date with what was required of me and support was always provided when needed. I felt i received the right amount of guidance, balanced with freedom to perform my job role.
Culture
Very fun culture and atmosphere. Overall everyone was very approachable and happy to get me involved in a range or projects with various teams. The intern culture was also great, with over 250 interns there was a lot of support and opportunity to progress. The intern the experience was very professional and i never felt like i was a supporting role to others in the team.
Your Impressions
I felt like a learn a lot form the placement and overall had a very enjoyable experience. This placement was very product development focused with licensees doing the design work. I learnt i would be more interested in hands on Design in the future.
Yes
Although some of the work can be very admin focused, for a office environment it's an extremely fun place to work where there are a lot of opportunities as an intern to get stuck into the company. as a stepping stone Disney shows great corporate experience and a high level of professionalism. And if you where to return to Disney is seems like you'll have a very high chance of further employment there.
