    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I work in trade marketing for Parks & Resorts working on Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and Disney Cruise Line. I assist in marketing activity across EMEA with trade partners. I run training sites/apps, asset platforms, audit websites, book competition stays etc. I also undertake all finance related tasks for my team.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have improved my multi-tasking and communications skills. I have learnt the realities of working in the corporate workplace. My already strong Disney brand knowledge has only improved and I now have a strong knowledge of our products and brands.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given some responsibility as I had control over some of my own, small, projects. However, I was not given as much responsibility as I would have liked/was hoping for as I was often given the most menial/mundane tasks to complete within the team.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • A culture of hard work mixed in with some fun. As we are understaffed, people are encouraged to work long hours. Not a particularly positive culture when it came to integrating interns/younger members of the team.
