Overview
I am a 'Systems Sales Storage Specialist', providing key operational assistance and support for the Systems Storage Director and key brand stakeholders within the leadership team. I support the team by organising executive visits, help to target accounts, and help out with ad hoc tasks team members may have.
Skills
I have learnt many new skills, and honed other skills also. These include communication, both written and verbal, leadership, resilience, confidence, presenting.
Responsibilities
Not particularly. I was very quiet, and had to find most of my work individually, rather than having repeatable tasks each week given to me. However, of the tasks I did acquire, these carried lots of responsibility.
Support & Guidance
Some, but could be better. My task manager has rarely been in touch, and has meant that I have reached out to others in my team for support and assistance. My foundation manager has been brilliant, regularly checking in and ensuring I know where she is to talk to whenever I need.
Culture
Good - a culture of learning is encouraged. The atmosphere in person was very friendly with lots of socials to attended if preferred.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship more as time went on. I started out very quiet and felt unsupported, however, around the 6 month mark, this changed and I enjoyed the work I was doing more.
Yes
Make sure you question the job role/tasks in the interview and make sure it is something you are going to enjoy. If not, go back into the matching pool and wait for a role that sounds of interest to you.
