Overview
Proving support for colleagues' projects within research & development, by applying a broad range of statistical methods and techniques (which are primarily learnt on the job). Key sections of this are: speaking to colleagues to understand the project at hand, running the analysis of data and feeding back the results and their interpretation.
Skills
I have been given the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills over the course of the placement, from technical skills to presentation skills, coding and storytelling.
Responsibilities
Yes, right from the start I was treated as an equal employee and given a lot of responsibilities whilst still having the needed support.
Support & Guidance
Guidance was always available from my line manager and wider team at any given moment. However, the work was independent and guidance wasn't forced when it wasn't required.
Culture
The company is friendly and there are constantly new opportunities to get involved in events and meet new people including charity, diversity and social events
Your Impressions
The placement has been very enjoyable and has given me a good perspective of what it looks like to work in the industry
Yes
Express yourself and your personality in interviews, don't feel like you have to be overly formal.
