Overview
Working with other developers to gather requirements, and build full stack solutions to help with trade valuations and other functions for the front-offce.
Skills
My technical skills have improved greatly with technologies such as C#, C++ and React. I have also improved communication skills through presentations and working with others
Responsibilities
I was given projects in which I was the only developer, meaning that the success and failure of the project depended entirely on me. These projects weren't entirely production critical, which meant there was enough responsibility on me without it being too overwhelming.
Support & Guidance
I had weekly meetings with my team/manager and members of the team were always available to help/talk if I ever reached out and needed assistance.
Culture
The company culture was very laid back and friendly. People socialise frequently in the office, and most people were very approachable
Your Impressions
My placement was more enjoyable at some times than others, mainly due to the type of work I was doing at the time. I made some good friends at the company who I plan to stay in touch with, so I would say that I had a 4/5 time at the placement
Yes
Make sure you know your field, interviewers will see through you if you are waffling/making things up. They value social skills just as highly as technical ones, so make sure to make an effort to appear personable and work well with others on the assessment day.
