Responsibilities
As the placement period went on I was given more responsibility as I gained a better understanding of the department. However, the team were always on hand to help and offer advice if needed. By the end of my placement i was given a study to plan and run on my own with minimal support.
Support & Guidance
Bother the team and HR were very helpful and easy to talk to, i never felt scared to ask questions and everyone was keen to help me learn.
Culture
whilst it is a male dominated workplace/team, everyone is very welcoming and In ever felt that I was treated any differently because of my gender. Within my team the atmosphere was always friendly with everyone chatting and laughing

Yes
Read the role descriptions carefully to understand which department will suit your skills and interests best as there are a lot of different opportunities. for assessment centres and interviews they're not looking for you to already have a lot of knowledge in missile design or defence, but a good grasp of relevant concepts and curiosity/an eagerness to learn.
