Overview
The intern will provide support to the Shop Floor during all phases of the repair process, starting at inspection and ending before build. You will do this by providing support in identifying and documenting opportunities to repair unserviceable material.
Skills
Time managing, general soft skills, technical skills such as GD&T, 3D Printing. General knowledge of multiple repair processes such as, blending, machining, welding, thermal spray, etc.
Responsibilities
Plenty of responsibility. All work is thoroughly checked and peer reviewed but the team relies on a good performance from the interns.
Support & Guidance
Plenty of support from the mentors and coworkers.

Good learning environment.
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed my placement and consider it a great learning opportunity. However, the job description is slightly misleading. Although the intern will engage in very important tasks, the technical level is quite low. I was left with the impression that there is no need for a high level degree and that sometimes the work only requires a great amount of attention and no academical preparation.
