Skills
I learned more about finance, accounting, macro and micro economics. I seriously improved my excel skills and got to work on stress testing, model updating and process automation. I had a lot of sessions on how we hedge our positions, what are asset back securities and how they work. We discuss with my line manager almost on a daily basis the interest rates forecasts and macroeconomic factors that affect them. I get an experienced opinion from my team on where the market is going and how we get ready for what's coming.
Responsibilities
I was very fortunate to have a very open minded team who agree on changing some of the businesses procedures in order to make the more efficient. I got the chance to get extra work on the things that I am interested about and get a deep walk through with my team on how they work, what we want to see and what we want certain models to do. This way I got their analysis on anything I didn't know before and help not only on understanding the business better, but on optimising it as well.

Culture
The general atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. Everyone is very open to talk to you and explain you anything that you are confused about. The company definitely has a very strong culture on having a friendly environment at work and supporting progress. The company also tries getting involved in charity, sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
