Skills
I have mainly developed my communication skills and my Excel skills as they are both heavily needed in the role.
Responsibilities
Yes, the responsibilities I was given steadily increase as I became more familiar with my role. I went from just over looking and updating UK demands internally to taking charge of the US demands and the subcontractor process within the UK.
Support & Guidance
Support was always readily available. I had 2 managers which I could go to - Task Manager and Foundation Manager. They both had helped me greatly to adapt into IBM and my role and other people at IBM were always more than happy to help you whenever you need.
Culture
The people at IBM are friendly and always happy to help which creates a nice environment for people to work in. There are also plenty of givebacks and events that you can partake where you can connect with other people and relax.
Your Impressions
My placement year was busy but overall, I enjoyed my time here so I decided to come back as an apprentice. I felt like I made the most of my year here.
Yes
Be confident and be yourself during the interview. It is also quite good to prepare a few good examples that you can share too. Think about what you want to get out of the year if you are applying for a placement year because that way you have a direction in mind.
