Overview
My role as a Treasury Analyst involves cash management for the company, ensuring that the right amount of money is in the right place and in the right currency. Regular tasks involves managing the daily cash spreadsheet, issuing bank guarantees, making payments and conducting meetings with bank relationship managers. Ad hoc tasks involve administration of the banking platforms.
Skills
Through this placement year, I have developed great written and verbal communication skills as well as organization and prioritization. Furthermore, I have had the chance to adapt to both a working-from-home environment as well as in the office.
Responsibilities
Alongside my daily tasks and responsibilities, I was given many additional opportunities during my placement year such as creating and delivering special projects and presentations relating to capitalizations and bank fee reporting. I was also involved in the account openings process throughout the year.
Support & Guidance
My team were very supportive throughout my placement year and that made it easier for me to communicate any concerns or ask questions.
Culture
Cummins is a very friendly and diverse company, making the culture and atmosphere great to work in, with a large network and support system throughout. This made my placement year much more enjoyable as I had the chance to interact with many colleagues outside of my team.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year and although majority of my placement was remote, my team and I adapted well and still learnt and grasped many concepts within my role. Being part of the Treasury team has given me a vast amount of knowledge and experiences that will be useful in the future.
