Overview
My role involves reviewing financial reports, providing insight and explanation in some cases to variances. Compiling and reviewing Cost Centre Reports and then discussing with Cost Centre Managers reasons for variation. Preparing or carrying out month end tasks with efficiency and to meet certain deadlines.
Skills
Developed my analytical skills and attention to detail. Also developed my interpersonal skills by liasing with other employees and being part of a functioning team.
Responsibilities
Yes definitely, especially when going through the process of hiring the next undergraduate I was allowed to plan and lead the interview, I also thought my opinions and views were taken into account and respected.
Support & Guidance
Everyone was extremely helpful, even though my team was always very busy with their own tasks I always felt I could ask them a question and they would be there to help.
Culture
Super friendly and helpful, relaxed atmosphere. The employees make this place.
Your Impressions
The work itself was a bit monotonous at times but the people I worked with really made my experience and I know I will stay in touch with them even after this placement has finished.
Yes
If you're looking for a place to gain new skills amongst some really friendly and helpful people I would definitely go for it however if you are looking for somewhere where you can quickly progress up the ladder in your career I would say this might not be the best place for you. There are not a huge amount of opportunities for progression.
