    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Main two documents used and manage on a daily basis: Audit Tracker - covers every task that needs to be done pre & post audits (and the date by when they should be done) Audit Analysis - where all the findings and their classifications are recorded On a typical day I will send any emails that the Audit Tracker notes I should send (including creating any documentation that needs to be sent with it). I may also have some presentations or schedules perhaps that I am due to create. Afterwards I work on the other tasks my manager has given me.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Microsoft Excel - I entered the placement only knowing a handful of formulas and basic skills. I am now very confident in my ability and have used my skills to evolve the way we present our audit findings and their classifications / closure rates to senior management. Task managing - I have furthered my ability to prioritize tasks above others based on urgency/importance. Communication - I have had to communicate with senior associates of Honda regularly throughout the year and I have also had to present on numerous occasions, whether that be our team's Monthly Planning Meeting or on the Assessment Days for the recruitment of our next undergraduate.

  • I very much enjoyed my placement and am incredibly grateful for the year I have had. The level of exposure to the company, especially its senior levels, was greater than any other Honda undergraduate role and the level of responsibility I was given has provided me with great experiences and has allowed me to really develop my skills.

  • Make sure you research the Honda philosophy when applying and brush up on your Excel skills. A lot of the success of candidates is based upon whether you would be someone the team would want to work with / a good fit, so presenting the best version of yourself from a personality point is crucial.
