Overview
Day to day varies greatly depending on business/team requirements on the day. Standard work included attending meetings as a safety representative, data analysis for permit adherence and acting on safety concern reports
Skills
- Greatly improved communication skills - Self confidence - Presentation skills - Data analysis/Excel
Responsibilities
Responsibility increased over the course of the year, especially within the latter 6 months. Training was given alongside this and I rarely felt overwhelmed.
Support & Guidance
Was put in contact with my mentor in advance of starting who has provided lots of support and guidance. As well as this my office have been great at supporting me throughout
Culture
Company culture is positive and with established intern and apprentice programs people on site welcome support from new people and are happy to help you settle in
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed the placement. As a Geography student this was out of my comfort zone in an industry that I knew little about however I have learnt a lot and everyone was happy to teach me
