Overview
My role is to assist my manager into maintaining the internal control's of the company. Each day contains different tasks - on an average day I will either be working within a project so will continue to work on this, or I will set up a meeting with my manager to discuss my performance and anything ese that needs doing.
Skills
I have mainly developed on my confidence through the need to conclude in a timely basis, critical thinking through networking with professionals, and time management through deadline pressure.
Responsibilities
For a placement, I was given loads of responsibility. For instance, I managed the whole process of checking Purchase Orders Under Threshold, which required me to analyze data and query employees who may have broke policy. Not only this but I then had to conclude on this data and present it to the CFO. This whole process was not interfered with by anyone but myself.
Support & Guidance
Loads of support - Not only was my manager always there to hep if I had any sort of problem, but other people in the office were always free to give advice on not only professionally but on my own personal struggles.
Culture
L'Oréal is a very friendly place where people love to celebrate and give gifts. It's a very open place and you'll never feel like an intern working there - you'll always feel like another employee.
Your Impressions
The placement was amazing - I highly recommend aiming to complete at least a year of placement and not only get the feel of working for L'Oréal, but to experience what working and living in London is really like (It's not as bad as everyone says it is - even if it is expensive)
Yes
Make sure you boast yourself to the max - Why should L'Oréal spend £20,000 for what you offer? - Why is teaching you so important to L'Oréal aims? - What makes you stand out from the other thousands of students applying to this role? Answering these questions for me was vital in getting this role.
