Overview
A lot of ad hoc responsibilities, to ensure that we are well clued up on what competitors are doing and acting accordingly to remain competitive. Ensuring that all assets are up to date and reliable for the network t use with information about of vehicles, their spec and technical data.
Skills
A lot of opportunity for personal development, the annual review process sets individual objectives for you on areas you want to develop in over the placement. Meaning the placement can be tailored to your desires of development. You work with a lot of other people in different departments so my people and networking skill have developed massively.
Responsibilities
Massively. From the first day you are thrown in at the deep end which is such a great and effective way t learn. You are involved in all processes and your opinion on these processes is valued like any other member of staff. Gave a real opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and achieve things i never thought i would on a placement year.
Support & Guidance
HR team are very responsive. I also had great communication with my student manager who was always happy to help with and concerns queries and problems I had. They are very helpful in helping to complete any university work you may have. A two week handover from your predecessor at the start of placement also provided crucial guidance on what to expect on the year and was a great support in settling in
Culture
Everyne is happy to help it really is like one big family. if someone cant help you they know who can and are happy to put you in touch. there are lots of opportunity for social activities outside the office with department away days and Sports and Social club. This help to cultivate an amazing work culture which you dont often get!
Your Impressions
To a great extent. there were time i have found it challenging but in the long run I'm thankful for this as it showed myself just how much i was capable of. There are so many other intern students who are taken on board at the sae time meaning you have a great network of people you can relate to and seek help and comfort from.
Yes
Be yourself and be honest, you don't need to know everything about cars and the automotive industry, you will pick it up in no time on the way.
