Overview
My main responsibility was to create products, the majority of these products were created quarterly during Campaign seasons, however, many also needed creating out of Campaign season. I also helped run the Marketing Operations inbox which involved answering queries from others in the business and assisted my team daily in tasks and projects that needed doing. Something I loved was that we were tasked with different things everyday which kept work really interesting and interactive.
Skills
I have learnt and developed so many new skills this year but in particular my confidence, time-management and organisation. In addition to this, my IT skills, mainly being Excel, have improved drastically which has allowed me to better perform at my daily duties. I have also developed my communication skills as I have interacted with multiple individuals across the business which has given me great experience with making connections across and within the business.
Responsibilities
I was positively surprised by the amount of responsibility I was given during my placement, I was given responsibility from the very beginning and this only developed throughout my year where I was completing research, tasks and software development for not only my team, but the Marketing Executive, Account Managers and Third-party companies. I was trusted with a lot of important work and tasks and this made me feel very valued and respected.
Support & Guidance
The Company itself were really great with regards to support and guidance whenever we needed and this was clear from the first day. With regards to my team, my manager was simply wonderful to me, she would support me whenever I needed and in a range of situations where it was necessary and was always there with guidance when I needed it. I always knew that if I needed any support, I would get it.
Culture
The culture and atmosphere, despite coming out of a pandemic, was better than I could have expected. The company constantly made an effort by putting events on, bringing in food to the office, setting up virtual quizzes and having risk/fun days, and sending wellbeing boxes to employees. Being in the office was also great as you always met new people who would make the effort to speak to you and put faces to names!
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year, it exceeded my expectations of how my placement year would go and I absolutely loved the team and role I was in. I feel so lucky to have had the experience I had here and in addition to this, I feel really grateful to have been asked to return on the Graduate Scheme next year and am really looking forward to coming back and starting my career here.
Yes
Go for it and enjoy it. Though the recruitment process is daunting, in comparison to many others it is enjoyable and involves so much more than just sitting multiple tests and interviews. It is such a great company to be part of and the experiences you will receive will help develop your skills so much more than you realise and will be so beneficial to your future career whatever that may be.
