Overview
Reporting to your line manager, integrating into your team, working on your project that will be presented at the end of the internship. There are also events and talks you can attend to widen your career knowledge and what Tesco has to offer.
Skills
One of the new skills that I have developed, which is a key skill when on the internship, is communicating with so many different colleagues not just fellow interns. this way you can grow your network and find out about different departments and opportunities that may suit you.
Responsibilities
The responsibility given is expected as an intern, you are given a project to complete and tasks within your team, you do also have a duty to yourself to put yourself out there and ask for work and tasks to enrich your own experience.
Support & Guidance
The support and the guidance received was great! The apprentice and graduate team are so supportive and understanding, any problems, queries and questions they are more than happy to answer. Of course as an intern you do not know everything, so the support about navigating and transitioning is highly helpful also.
Culture
Company culture was very human and people based, even when working from home. everyone is happy to answer questions and give you some advice.
Your Impressions
Highly enjoyable, invaluable corporate experience. it was great to build a network and talk to some amazing people and learn about what you want from your own career in the future.
Yes
Take the assessment center and the interview process as a positive challenge to build experience and knowledge in such an environment. Also during the process talk to your fellow candidates and find out about how different or similar everyone is- the diversity will amaze you!
