Overview
Managing recruitment of early careers profiles so setting up interview and group assessments and collating feedback to make hiring decisions. Help support in the onboarding and the general experience of L'Oréal early careers profiles during the recruitment process and their time at L'Oréal. Facilitating the providing of compulsory and optional training for L'Oréal employees. Including liaising with external and internal trainers and the attendees themselves.
Skills
Definitely - Aside from very L'Oréal specific skills relating to L'Oréal built systems etc. I have massively improved my organisation and prioritisation skills, and all of the other minor skills that come under that. I have greatly improved in my confidence and my public speaking ability - it is something that I actively enjoy doing now. And finally my excel skills have gone from almost nothing to way higher than i ever expected.
Responsibilities
Yes - I've managed the distribution and rollout of business wide trainings as well as the rollout and chase of mandatory e-learning completion which L'Oréal as a business can be audited on and is a legal requirement for them as a business. I have also managed the recruitment of both our grads and summer interns - from application to hire - facilitating the whole process and contributing in helping the business come to hiring decisions.
Support & Guidance
Loads - at L'Oréal everyone is so used to the presence of interns - so helping especially early on is a very normal thing for them. This makes asking questions much more comfortable and easy. Consistent connect with both my managers also allowed me to get and act on feedback regularly, and it always felt like my managers kept time for me no matter how busy they are.
Culture
I really like it - occasionally a little to hectic for my liking - but everyone is super nice and friendly. Which is great in particular for me as i take a little bit of time to come out of my shell.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it - i think naturally at times everyone gets annoyed by work but generally its been a really great experience, ive met some great people and it has set me up great going forward.
Yes
Throw yourself into everything - it will be tough and you'll have a lot on your plate but the more you get involved in the more you'll get out of it.
