Overview
I was a CRM intern in the LUXE division. I worked on CRM for Kiehl’s, IT Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Yves Saint Laurent Beauty, Giorgio Armani Beauty, Lancôme and Mugler beauty. My responsibilities included reporting on email KPIs in a weekly tracker and monthly report, coordinating communication between the 7 LUXE brand teams and external agencies and proofing the HTML code for emails through Adobe Campaigns software.
Skills
L’Oréal has helped me develop existing skills and learn new ones! I have developed my organisation skills in planning out the email calendar and manage several deadlines through a detailed and regularly updated email tracker for all 7 LUXE brands. I also learnt a new industry-specific skill of HTML coding through proofing email code on Adobe campaigns. This was a totally new skill that I learned and will continue to develop.
Responsibilities
Definitely! I was given a lot of responsibility in my role as well as freedom to make the position my own. I really enjoyed the responsibility because I felt that what I was doing was meaningful and important within the company. Developing my own way of working while navigating the responsibilities of the role was difficult at first but helped me develop resilience and maintaining a calm and positive attitude when faced with challenges.
Support & Guidance
I had a wonderful line manager and wider team who continuously supported me throughout my placement. My manager gave me freedom to adapt the role to my way of working which I really appreciated as that was important to me. They always gave me guidance when faced with challenges. I always felt comfortable to approach my manager and voice any concerns I had both personally and professionally.
Culture
It truly is such a supportive and positive work environment! The company culture and general atmosphere is positive and fun. There is a good work-to-life balance that is encouraged by everyone. There is always social opportunities after-work such as after-work drinks, team lunches, team-bonding days etc. You get to socialise with your team in a non-office context and I felt these opportunities have led to some great friendships with my team members!
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at L’Oréal. I was very excited to start work each day on my placement. I really enjoyed my role and the importance of the role in contributing to the company. I developed my personal skills and learned various professional skills throughout this placement which will be valuable for my future career. This placement truly exceeded my expectations and has truly been an incredible experience.

My advice to those applying to L’Oréal is to be yourself! Show how you are unique and what you can bring to the business. L’Oréal is always on the look-out for talents of various background and experiences. Also, it will be useful to showcase your interest in the beauty industry by staying up to date with trends and news within the industry. These key points will help you stand out!
