The Role
It was a real job with real work and everyone was really supportive. I would definately return after graduation.
I feel like I have resposnibilty and trust, and within my team and collegues - everyone is friendly and gets on well together. I have a good business and social relationship with them.
I was given plenty of support and helped along the way. Instead of being told every answer to every question, I was made to think a little which definately helped my development within the company.
During month-end I was extremely busy - it meant a few late nights but that's how finance is. mid-month I had plenty of work to keep me going and still managed to take my holidays.
I had a lot of responsibilty during my time at Xerox - I had deadlines and tasks which I had to manage and send off to the concerned indivduals in Corporate wthout my manager checking on the progress - I was trusted to get the work done correctly and on time.
Some of the skills that I developed will help me whilst I am at University - especially my concentration with others around and time management when numerous things have the same deadline.
The Company
People talked and laughed whilst getting their work done - there was always someone friendly around that you could talk to and this helped the day pass more quickly.
The placement was very organised - When I arrived I had a compuer and log-in information, and my student was ready to meet me. I had somewhere to park and my managers were around to help. I had the interview in December on the Friday and by the Monday I had a pone call offerng me the job - very organised!
I wasn't able to continue my accountancy exams - I believe this is because it is a lot of money to invest, however with regards to time and on-the-job training - I was provided with extensive training in the applications that I use, however all of this was optional. Xerox also has Learning @ Xerox which contains all areas to learn.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Working from home
I have been offered a place back at Xerox if there is a job going, however without a graduate scheme - a job isn't definite, it depends what positions are around in April time.
