Overview
Working within the Brand activation team, my role involved managing all digital assets for product launches and activations. Organizing sampling campaigns with media, PR, and DTC teams by creating the interface, ordering stock, managing units for the campaign and also creating post campaign emails and analysis. Working with retailers CRM newsletters/emails. Managing product information with product managers. Supporting GWPs including raising codes and creating assets. Reviewing competitor activations and prepare competitor activation analysis.
Skills
Throughout my internship, I`ve learnt new skill continuously and improved existing skills. I developed confidence when presenting to my team and outside of team. Struggled with tight deadlines, but learnt how to manage timetable for my workload. Developed my communication skills with both internal and external partners by building strong relationship with people. I became confident when I was given a task. I learned how to think outside of the box when solving a problem.
Responsibilities
Definitely, I started my role in a big product launch moment and I was introduced to 20 different retailers and provide activation content. After I settled to my role, I got more responsibility such as managing sampling campaign with influencers, retailers, media and DTC. I was responsible to build designs for the brand and amend the assets locally when needed. My greatest responsibility was managing online visibility of the brand and to improve our brand score on visibility trackers.
Support & Guidance
During my internship, I received enormous amount of support from my team and the wider. Especially, my manager was always there for me when I had a question. During our weekly catch ups, we were going through all of our workload and sharing them if needed. Every team member was there to help each other. When I first started, I received most of the help from other interns as we were all in adjustment period. My manager guided me to the best contact person related to my question/issue.
Culture
L`oreal is a company that cares about inclusivity and employee motivation. I was really impressed with the Citizens day where we were divided in groups and helping a community garden by painting flowers/trees painting walls and so on. Especially as a division, we had social events such as drinks in side and outside of the organization. Even though we had covid-19 restrictions, L`oreal was finding a way to engage employees. We had a friendly environment in the office where I was able to reach out people from different job levels.
Your Impressions
After I met with the whole team, I enjoyed every moment of my placement as I explored the company culture, brand, division, other roles and opportunities. Especially, we had so many opportunities where we can work with other teams. Such as, when I told my manager that I want to see what other teams are doing, she helped me to get involved in their projects. I was receiving and giving feedbacks on a daily basis and that`s how I developed myself. I would love to go back and continue my work within the organization in future.
Yes
I would recommend L`Oreal to people who believes working could be both fun and important. During my interview, I new my opportunities and I was so excited to discover myself first. I chose to d a placement year because I believe we are all in an environment which constantly changes and during our journey, I believe I should have an experience in an area that I enjoy. When preparing for the application/interview process I recommend applicants to be themselves and share their ideas because L`Oreal cares about what everyone think and you will have a great voice in your work. I was known from my laugh as I was smiling all the time because I was enjoying every moment.
